Homemade Granola Ingredients
Ingredients:
- Old fashioned oats
- Whole almonds
- Sea salt
- Brown sugar
- Honey
- Coconut oil
- Pure vanilla extract
- Almond extract
How To Make Granola
To make this you will need a large sheet pan like this one. The bigger the sheet pan the better in my opinion, because the more you can spread out the oats the more toasted they can get when you bake them.
You’ll also need to line the sheet pan with parchment paper. This keeps everything from sticking but also is helpful when removing the granola from the sheet pan to the storage container.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Chop or use a food processor to pulse the almonds until they are coarsely chopped.
- Combine almonds, oats, sea salt, and brown sugar and stir to combine.
- In a microwave-safe measuring cup combine honey and coconut oil. Microwave for 40-50 seconds. Stir to dissolve the coconut oil, and add pure vanilla extract and almond extract.
- Pour the honey mixture immediately over the oat mixture so that everything is evenly coated.
- Pour the oat mixture evenly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet with sides.
- Bake for 5 minutes then flip or stir the oats. Be sure to spread them back out into an even layer and return them to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes. Oats will be golden on the edges when they are done.
- Remove and let the granola cool completely. Once cooled granola can be broken into clusters.
- Store in an airtight container.
What To Serve With Almond Coconut Granola
Almond Coconut granola has the perfect balance of flavors, the toasted golden oats and coconut flavors combination is not overly sweet, and with a touch of sea salt to balance it out. Granola is the perfect addition to Greek yogurt, enjoyed with milk like cereal or by all by itself. Almond Coconut Granola is great for breakfast but makes a great snack as well. Our house enjoys making this recipe year-round with Instant Pot Greek yogurt and fresh or frozen berries.

How To Store Homemade Granola
If the granola doesn’t disappear before your eyes you’ll need to store it in an air-tight container. I like using my mason jars with these lids and these are my favorite pantry storage containers. I’ve used both to store my Almond Coconut Granola and have great results with it staying fresh for weeks, either way, I store it.
