The FIRST important thing to consider when learning to use the Frigidaire Air Fry Range is it’s NOT a countertop air fryer. A full-size range does not have the same cook times and temperature settings as an appliance ¼ its size. Next, I’ll share my tips on how to successfully use the Air Fry function in a full-size oven with air fry.

What Is An Air Fry Range?
The air fry range is a full-size oven or range with air fry technology built into it. This can eliminate the need for a countertop appliance and allows you to cook for your family at the same time, rather than in batches like a smaller unit requires.
When air frying we are using the convection fan technology, but it has been enhanced. The Frigidaire Gallery range uses a specialized convection setting designed with superheated air and a higher speed fan when air frying resulting in the crispy and “deep-fried” texture we love.

Air Fryer vs. Convection Oven
A convection oven cooks with a fan that continually circulates hot air around the oven to produce a more even and consistent cooking temperature. A true convection oven will have three heating elements one on top and bottom and one around the fan. Convection cooking results in faster and more evenly cooked food. The difference between the two is based on the speed at which the fans operate and the temperature of the oven.

There are multiple versions of the Frigidaire Air Fry range now available. I own this exact model FRIGIDAIRE GALLERY Model # FGGH3047VF. Others you may consider:

Air Fry Range Accessories
- Large sheet pan to use as a drip pan. This is the size I have.
- Frigidaire Ready Cook Tray
- Silicone Potholders that double as trivets are my favorite.
- Parchment Paper-Helps to absorb oil and prevents smoking.
- Aluminum Foil– Heavy-duty and wide foil to cover the drip pan.
- Sheet Pan With Wire Rack Insert-alternative to ReadyCook Tray.

How To Use The Frigidaire Air Fry Range
First, before using a brand new range read your owner’s manual to understand all of the functions and features of the appliance. Next, the manufacturer recommends running the range on the bake setting at 350° for at least 30 minutes before using it for the first time.
To use the Air Fry function. Select Air Fry and enter the desired temperature for the food. Press OK/Start.
Arrange the desired amount of food on the air fry tray. Be sure not to overcrowd the tray.
When the range beeps to signal that it has preheated place the ReadyCook Air Fry Tray in the 3rd position (or the position recommended in your owner’s manual) Place a large sheet pan (this size fits perfectly) covered in heavy-duty aluminum foil and/or lined with parchment paper for a drip pan. Place the drip pan two spaces below the air fry tray to allow for good air circulation.
Air Fry the selected food for the recommended time. Most likely you will need to shake or flip the food once during the air frying for even cooking.
Tips For Successfull Air Frying
- Don’t use much oil, if any. Saturating the food with oil will have soggy results and causes smoke.
- Use oil with a smoke point of 400° or higher like Avocado, Grapeseed or Extra Virgin Oilve Oil.
- Preheat the oven, even if it says not to.
- Use a large drip pan to catch any drips/crumbs
- Use parchment paper on the drip pan with greasy foods to catch oil
- Don’t over crowd the air fry tray. Air needs to be able to circulate around the food
- Most things will need to be flipped for even air frying
- Cooking times and temperatures are not the same as a counter-top unit that is ¼ of the size.
- Run an exhaust fan when air frying
- Spray or brush the air fry tray with oil to prevent food from sticking (especially breaded meat)
Is Air Frying Healthy?
It’s important to note that not everything is meant to be cooked in an air fryer whether it be a full-sized or countertop version, but if you’re looking to cut unhealthy fats and oils and fried food from your diet then air frying food that is a great option. You can achieve the crispy texture of beloved “fried” foods with little to no oil.

Some of the most popular recipes are Air Fry Range Fish Stick Tacos, Air Fry Range Nashville Hot Chicken, Frigidaire Air Fry Range Chicken Parmesan, & Homemade Pizza Rolls.
Great Foods For Air Frying
- Frozen foods like frozen French fries, frozen sweet potato fries, frozen chicken tenders, chicken nuggest, onion rings, tater tots, fish sticks etc.
- “Fried” food from scratch like chicken, egg rolls, wontons, homemade French fries, etc.
- Veggies like broccoli, zucchini fries, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, and roasted baby potatoes, & asparagus.
- Bacon!! (if you don’t mind some mess)
When To Use True Convection Bake
Convection cooking is faster than conventional and you can use multiple racks in the oven at once without having to rotate the food. This is because the heat isn’t coming from the heating elements on the top and bottom but being circulated evenly allowing you to bake 3 pans of cookies or multiple pizzas all at the same time.
What Foods Are Best For Convection Bake?
- Poultry and sausage
- Roasted meats
- Pizza
- Bread that needs a bit of a crust like banana bread
Conventional oven baking is the most widely used when recipes are written so remember to reduce the recipe cook time and possibly temperature when using the convection bake setting. It does take some getting used to but so worth it.
When Should I Use Traditional Bake Setting?
- Delicate foods like soufflé or cheesecake are great candidates for conventional baking
- Batter recipes that don’t require a crust like a cake
Air Fry Range Review
In my opinion that was not paid for or sponsored in any way I absolutely think this Frigidaire Range with Air Fry is worth the money. You can read my full Frigidaire Air Fry Range Review here and a full review of the ReadyCook Air Fry Tray Here.
An Air Fry Oven is a full-sized oven with the air fry feature built-in. The capability to air fry in a full-size 30 in. 5.6 cu. ft. Range means no need to have another appliance on the countertop and the ability to cook larger batches of food all at once.
There is a significant cost difference between a countertop air fryer and a full-size oven with the air fry feature, however, if you are in the market to upgrade your range It’s my opinion that an Air Fry Oven is worth the money.
The range comes with the user’s manual. If you misplace your physical copy you can find the Frigidaire air fry manual for the gas range here

Thank you for your insights! I am still trying to figure out my new Frigidaire gas range with air fryer, and my struggle is that the Oven drawer is not big enough to store the air fryer rack or oven rack. I have removed one of the oven racks while using air fryer, wonder if you do that too? Appreciate your recipes, will look for them!
Tammy
I was going to ask a question too but looks like she isn’t going to respond to you, so oh well.

Hi Tammy, I’d love to answer your question if I can. I apologize for not answering questions on my blog in a time frame you see fit. I am a homeschool mom of 2 that works two part-time jobs and runs a blog on the side for a fun and creative outlet that hopefully helps other busy families in the process. I do remove an oven rack when using the air fryer rack. However, I don’t have a good solution to store them. Having a small storage drawer is actually on the cons list of pros and cons I wrote about in my review article on the range. When I am not using the range I store them all inside. When I am using it I just remove the rack I don’t need and set it off to the side.

I’m wondering how much mess there is? I have a new stove, I want it to look clean for a long time. I’m concerned using the air fry basket is gonna create a lot of work. Would love to know the real dirt. Lol

If you’re making things like bacon it will get dirty fast, however if you’re using the drip pan that is larger then the air fry basket it will keep drippings off the bottom and will stay pretty clean with most other things. I recommend a magic eraser for the door glass.
