What You Need To Make An Air Fried Whole Chicken
Ingredients:
- 4-5 lb. Whole fryer chicken
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Black pepper
- Onion powder
- Granulated garlic or garlic powder
- Italian blend seasoning
- Sea salt
- Smoked paprika

The cook times and temperatures for the range with air fry may vary from smaller countertop air fryers. Follow the recipes below for complete instructions. How Do You Cook An Entire Chicken In An Air Fryer?
Select the Air Fry function on the oven and set the temperature to 350° and allow to pre-heat.
To start, cover a baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil and place the wire rack on top. Mix the spices in a small bowl and set it aside. Next, place the chicken on a cutting board and pat chicken dry with paper towels.
Using your hands or a silicone basting brush cover the skin in extra virgin olive oil. Cover the whole chicken with the seasoning rub and gently rub the spices into the skin. When the chicken is seasoned place it on top of the wire rack on the prepared baking sheet chicken breast side up.
Place the chicken in the oven in the third rack position. You may need to remove an oven rack to allow for the chicken to rest and cool. Set a timer for 60 minutes.



How Long To Air Fry A Whole Chicken?
After 60 minutes check the internal temperature of the chicken with a digital meat thermometer. Insert the temperature probe into the thickest part of the breast but don’t touch any bones. Move the probe around and check multiple places around the chicken breast. Continue to air fry until the internal temperature reaches 165° for a 5-pound chicken this may take up to 120 minutes of cook time depending on the size of the chicken.

At the end of the cooking time or the internal temperature reaches 165° carefully remove the baking sheet and allow the chicken to rest for 10-15 minutes before cutting it up.

Frigidaire Air Fryer Whole Chicken
Tender and juicy air fried chicken with delicious crispy skin seasoned with the perfect blend of spices.
Ingredients
- 4-5 lb. whole fryer chicken
- 2-3 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp. Black Pepper
- 1 Tbsp. Onion Powder
- 1 Tbsp. Granulated Garlic
- 1 Tbsp. Italian Spice Blend
- 1 tsp. Sea Salt
- 1 tsp. Smoked Paprika
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven using the air fry function to 350°
- Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the wire rack on top
- Combine all the spices in a small bowl and stir to combine
- Pat the whole fryer chicken dry with paper towels
- Rub or brush EVOO all over the skin of the chicken
- Generously cover the chicken with the spice blend and rubbing it all over the chicken to coat
- Place the seasoned chicken on wire rack breast side up
- Place the chicken in the oven on the rack in the third postion
- Air Fry for 90-115 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°
Notes
Air Frying time will depend on the size of the chicken you are cooking, it's imperative to use a digital meat thermometer to thoroughly check the chicken in multiple places to ensure the chicken is fully cooked.
