Classic Chicken Parmesan reimagined into a crispy air-fried guilt-free recipe in the Frigidaire Air Fry Range. Served with Banza chickpea pasta spaghetti, gooey mozzarella cheese, and topped with delicious marinara sauce. Healthier gluten-free comfort food the whole family will love.

This delicious Banza chickpea pasta recipe was inspired by my other gluten-free pasta dinners Banza Chickpea Pasta Bake, Banza Penne and Italian Meatballs, Banza Cajun Chicken Pasta & Banza Spaghetti.

How To Air Fry Chicken Parmesan
First, preheat the air fry range to 350°
Next, set up a dredging station. Using two dishes prepare the breading ingredients. In one dish whisk the eggs, in the other, combine bread crumbs, shredded parmesan cheese, and spices.

Optional step, but for even and faster cooking I recommend using thin-cut chicken breasts that have been pounded out evenly or slice thick-cut chicken breasts in half. Place the chicken breast on a cutting board and cover it with plastic wrap. Using a rolling pin or meat tenderizer pound out the chicken flat. This step helps ensure the chicken will cook evenly.
Crispy Gluten-Free Breading
For a crispy breading you’ll need to double coat the chicken breast.
Place one chicken breast at a time in the egg and coat on both sides. Remove the chicken breast from the egg and place it into the bread crumb mixture. Coat the chicken on both sides.

Shake the excess bread crumbs off the chicken breast and place it back into the egg coating it on both sides again. Finally, return the chicken breast to the bread crumb mixture once more and coat it again on both sides pressing the chicken into the bread crumbs firmly.
Place breaded chicken on the Read Cook Air Fry Tray and allow it to air dry for at least 10 minutes.

Next, place the air fry tray in the oven with a prepared drip pan two positions below. Air fry the chicken for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes remove the air fry basket, spray the chicken lightly with avocado oil flip the chicken over and spray the second side.
Place the air fry tray back into the oven and continue to air fry for 5-10 more minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°. When the meat thermometer reaches 165° place slices of mozzarella cheese on top and broil for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.
Serve with Banza chickpea spaghetti and organic marinara, homemade spaghetti sauce, or Instant Pot spaghetti squash.
Substitutions
Pasta – use traditional pasta, whole wheat pasta, or lentil pasta.
Gluten-Free – use traditional Italian bread crumbs if there are no dietary restrictions.
Avocado Oil – be sure to use an oil with a high smoke point like extra virgin olive oil or grapeseed oil
Thin Cut Chicken Breast-use chicken tenders, or slice thick cut chicken breast in half.
Baked Chicken Parmesan
If your range isn’t equipped with the air fry function bake breaded chicken in the oven on a baking sheet at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°. Place sliced mozzarella on top and broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted.
Equipment
This recipe is specifically intended for full-size ovens with the air fry feature like the Frigidaire Air Fry Range I own. The cook times and temperatures for the range with air fry may vary from smaller countertop air fryers. Follow the recipes below for complete instructions. For small air fryers cooking time and temperatures may need to be adjusted. Check out the full review of the Frigidaire Air Fry Range here.

Countertop Air Fryer
Countertop air fryer will cook faster and cooking times and temperatures may vary depending on the specific unit. For chicken parmesan heat to 400° and air fry for 5-6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°.
Storage
Store leftovers in an air-tight container for up to three days. The air-fried chicken parmesan may lose the crispy texture when reheated, but will still taste delicious.
Top tip
Allow the breaded chicken to rest for a minimum of 10 minutes before placing it in the air fryer range. This allows for the breading to dry and helps prevent it from falling off.
Food safety
- Cook to a minimum temperature of 165 °F (74 °C)
- Do not use the same utensils on cooked food, that previously touched raw meat
- Wash hands after touching raw meat
- Don’t leave food sitting out at room temperature for extended periods
- Never leave cooking food unattended
- Use oils with high smoking point to avoid harmful compounds
- Always have good ventilation when using a gas stove

Yes! Chicken parmesan is the perfect air fryer recipe. Chicken is tender on the inside and the parmesan breading on the outside is perfectly crispy. Using very little oil when air frying makes a classic comfort dinner healthier too.
If you love Air Fry Range Chicken Parmesan you’ll also love:
air-fry oven pizza rolls, chicken flautas, and air fry range broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers.
Select the air fry function on the range. Select the desired temperature. Using the ReadyCook Air Fry tray evenly space the food on the basket. Place the air fry tray in the 3 or 4th rack position depending on your recommended setting. Some foods may need to be turned or flipped to crisp evenly.
Banza chickpea pasta tastes great and really doesn’t taste that much different from traditional pasta. Banza has a firmer texture that holds up much better than other gluten-free pasta does. I prefer to prepare Banza chickpea pasta al dente for most recipes and prepare it in salted water with a teaspoon of EVOO.

I love air fryer chicken recipes. I have an air fryer range now too, but so far, I have still enjoyed cooking with my small quart air fryers more. However, my husband has cooked many meals using the air fryer range and they have turned out delicious.
