To start, wash potatoes with a vegetable brush, and leave the skins on.
Cut the potato in half lengthwise and chop each half into cubes that are as equal in size as possible, about 1-inch cubes.
Immediately place the diced potatoes in a bowl of cold water. Agitate the potatoes in the water until the water becomes cloudy.
Dump out the water and refill with cold water again and allow the potatoes to soak for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Using a strainer, drain the water from the potatoes and lay them out on a paper towel-lined baking sheet.
Blot the potatoes dry with a paper towel and then allow them to air dry for about 10 minutes. This is important to reduce the air frying time.

Air Fry Range Instructions
Select the Air Fry function on the Air Fry Oven and set the temperature to 375 degrees F. Soaking the potatoes in water removes excess starch from the potatoes resulting in a perfectly crispy exterior without the mess of deep frying.
Next, place the dried potatoes back into a clean dry mixing bowl and toss them in a little bit of avocado oil. Don’t over-saturate the potatoes it only takes a tablespoon or less of oil. Toss the potatoes to coat evenly. Season the potatoes as you toss them with a spoon to distribute the seasoned salt and granulated garlic evenly.

Dump the seasoned potatoes onto the ReadyCook Air Fry Tray or Air Fry Basket and spread them out in a single layer.
Air fry potatoes for 10 minutes. Using a spatula flip the potatoes at the 10-minute mark. Continue to cook for another 10 minutes shaking the tray as needed for even frying.
For extra crispy golden brown potatoes air fry for 5 more minutes for a total of 25 minutes.
Remove the air fry tray from the oven and serve immediately.

Equipment
This recipe is specifically intended for full-size ovens with the air fry feature like the Frigidaire Air Fry Range I own. The cook times and temperatures for the range with air fry may vary from smaller countertop air fryers. Follow the recipes below for complete instructions. For small air fryers cooking time and temperatures may need to be adjusted. For the full review of the Frigidaire Air Fry Range go here.
Air fryer breakfast potatoes can be made in a smaller countertop appliance, however, the cooking times and temperatures may need to be adjusted, and cooking for a family will need to be done in batches. Follow the same step-by-step instructions but refer to the owner’s guide for your appliance for suggested times and temperatures.
Prepare Ahead & Storage
To save time prepare the potatoes and leave them soaking in cold water in the fridge for up to 6 hours ahead of time. Store leftover breakfast potatoes in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.
To reheat, select Air Fry and set the temperature to 350°. Place the French fries on the ReadyCook Air Fry Tray and back into the Air Fry range for 8-10 minutes or until they are warmed through and crispy.
Tips For Crispy Breakfast Potatoes
The longer you soak the potatoes the more starch will be removed resulting in crispier air-fried potatoes.
Don’t skip the air drying. When air frying you’re pulling out the moisture of the food to “fry” or crisp up the outside of the food.
Cut the potatoes as evenly as possible to avoid some cooking faster than others.
Thinner potato cubes will take less time than thick-cut cubes, adjust your cooking time as needed.
Use AVOCADO oil. In the air fry range, you must use oils with a high smoking point to avoid filling your house with smoke.
Use Russett Potatoes-these have the best taste, and texture for air-fried breakfast potatoes.
Use an air fry basket or tray to allow the hot air to circulate around the food.
375° F is the perfect temperature for air frying crispy golden brown russet potatoes in the full-size air fry range. Cooking time and temperatures may vary depending on your brand of range and how large the potatoes are diced.
Most likely you did not remove enough starch from the potatoes before air frying or you used too much oil or the wrong type of oil for air frying. For best results soak a minimum of 15 minutes in cold water and use a minimal amount of avocado or EVOO oil for best results.

Would love to try but don’t have an air fryer. Do you have instructions for a convection or regular oven?
amberhollis918@gmail.com
You could certainly bake these potatoes and get a good result. They might be as crispy in the traditional oven, however, convection baking is very similar to air frying. Air frying is basically a souped-up convection oven.
